Nobody expected that coronavirus and its effects on our world would magically vanish as the fireworks announcing 2021 went off in the night sky around the world on New Year's Day. But the first month after the year of COVID-19 is fast coming to a close, and with each passing day, there is comfort in the fact that we're staring down months of a global reboot to come. Optimism in the coming months will be provided by vaccine developments, technological solutions and an economic rebound for global trade as travel restrictions are relaxed globally. It may not be all sunflowers fields and rose bushes just yet, but we could quite likely be looking at a less claustrophobic world by summer 2021. That's why this new alt. mondays offering is themed #comingthru, as a nod to how quickly the world is adapting to the anticipation of a post-COVID world. Opening with Colombian-Canadian singer's titular "Coming Thru", alt. mondays 037 also features picks from Rema, Kid Cudi, Gorillaz, Charli XCX and Mavin's new signee artist, Ayra Starr.
